Head Coach
Aaron Stensland is entering his fourth year as head coach of the Clear Lake Lions, bringing 25 years of high school football coaching experience and 14 years as a head coach. A graduate of Iowa Falls High School, Coach Stensland continued his playing career at Wartburg College.
For Coach Stensland, football is about much more than wins and losses. He coaches for the life lessons the game teaches, believing that whether you are a coach or a player, football is always teaching you something. Football is tough, just like life, and the gridiron provides countless opportunities to learn how to face challenges and grow through them.
At the heart of his program are three standards: Loyalty, Toughness, and Relentlessness. Coach Stensland believes these qualities not only build strong football players and teams, but can carry young people a long way in life.
Outside of football, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, Chelsie, and their three children. They love being outdoors and spending time on the lake. He also enjoys watching college football, attending Iowa games, and fishing whenever he gets the chance.

Defensive Coordinator
Brian McIntire is a Clear Lake football alum, graduating in 2000 after playing for the Lions' championship team. He continued his football career at Wartburg College, where he played for four seasons, before spending seven years with the Sioux Falls Storm. Since finishing his playing career, Brian has returned to Clear Lake and continues to give back to the program as a coach and defensive coordinator.
What Brian loves most about football is the competition and the opportunity to help athletes compete, grow, and become better players and teammates.
Outside of football, Brian works for his family business, Glen’s Tire. He and his wife have four kids, and one of his favorite things is simply watching and supporting them in whatever they are doing. When he finds a little free time between work, coaching, and family, you’ll most likely find him working out.
Defensive Ends & Tight Ends/Wings Coach
Coach Evan Johnson is entering his 8th season at Clear Lake. A former player at Grand View University, his coaching experience includes stops at Des Moines Lincoln, Des Moines Christian, and Ankeny Centennial before coming to Clear Lake.
Coach Johnson loves football because it is the ultimate team sport—it takes all 11 players on the field working together to make a play happen. He believes football teaches leadership and accountability, no matter a player’s level or role on the team.
Outside of football, Evan serves as the High School At-Risk Coordinator at Clear Lake High School. He and his wife, Kali, have four children. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, golfing, watching football and wrestling, coaching, and playing darts.

Offensive Line Coach, Freshman & JV Offensive Coordinator
Carter Garrington is a Clear Lake football alum, playing fullback and defensive tackle for the Lions from 2012–2015. After graduating from Iowa State University, Carter returned to Clear Lake and is now entering his fifth year coaching Lions football.
For Carter, coaching football is about much more than the game. As a teacher and community member, football gives him another opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and make a lasting impact. Over the past five years, the hundreds of athletes and parents he has gotten to know are what continue to drive his passion for coaching. He loves the development, common goal, competition, and team aspect of football and finds coaching to be one of the most fulfilling parts of his life.
Outside of football, Carter teaches history at Clear Lake Community Schools. Life away from school and sports revolves around his wife, Madison, and their goldendoodle, Kylo. Carter and Madison are self-proclaimed nerds who enjoy Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars.

Linebackers & Running Backs Coach
Coach Logan Klemp is entering his fourth year of coaching with a strong background in the game. He played college football at the University of Iowa from 2018–2023, and now enjoys the opportunity to give back to young athletes and the Clear Lake community through coaching.
Outside of football, Logan is a 6th grade math and science teacher at Clear Lake Middle School. He is engaged to Megan Liddle, who is also a teacher in Clear Lake.
When he’s not coaching or teaching, Logan enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Offensive/Defensive Line Coach
Coach Jesse Collins brings 13 years of coaching experience at Clear Lake across both the junior high and high school levels. A graduate of Eldora-New Providence High School, he played running back and served as team captain in 1998. He continued his football career at Central College from 1999–2002, also playing running back and serving as team captain in 2002. Jesse later worked as a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach at Florida State University from 2006–2011.
Coach Collins enjoys being part of a team—both alongside fellow coaches and with the players. One of his favorite parts of coaching is getting to know his athletes and helping them reach beyond the potential they may see in themselves.
Outside of football, Jesse enjoys coaching his sons in sports, hunting, spending time outdoors, and home remodeling.

Varsity Wide Receivers, Cornerbacks & Special Teams
Tim Dodge brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Clear Lake football program. He competed in football and track at the University of Iowa before continuing his football career professionally in the Arena Football League with the Quad City Steamwheelers and Iowa Barnstormers. His coaching career has included football and track at Southeast Polk, Bondurant, and Clear Lake.
For Coach Dodge, football has always been a major part of life. He enjoys helping athletes reach their full potential and values the relationships, competition, and sense of team that come with the game.
Outside of football, Tim and his wife, Hillary, stay busy with their three children and life on their acreage, where they have a hobby farm primarily raising goats and chickens. He also enjoys hunting and boating. Tim serves the community as the Chief of Police in Garner.
AJ feuerbach
Assistant Varsity Coach
Coach AJ Feuerbach is entering his 20th season at Clear Lake High School and his 32nd year coaching high school football. He began his coaching career at B.G.M. in Brooklyn before spending 11 years at North Linn High School in Troy Mills, including six seasons as head coach.
Coach Feuerbach loves football because it is the ultimate team sport, requiring all 11 players on offense and defense to work together toward a common goal. More importantly, he values the lessons the game teaches and the opportunity to help young men develop the skills they need to succeed in life.
Outside of football, AJ and his wife, Jamie, are approaching 30 years of marriage and have three children. Jamie teaches sixth grade at Clear Lake Middle School. AJ owns two local businesses, Biosecurity Services L.L.C. and Call A.J. L.L.C. In his free time, he enjoys football at all levels, spending time with his family on Clear Lake, boating, and visiting family at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Defensive Tackles, Tight Ends & H-Backs | Kickers, Punters & Long Snappers
Brent Rolland is entering his 31st year coaching football, including an impressive 24 years with the Clear Lake Lions. His experience and dedication have made him a longtime part of the Clear Lake football program.
Coach Rolland loves football and the opportunities it gives young athletes to face challenges, work through adversity, and develop lessons that carry over into real life. For him, the value of the game extends well beyond what happens on the field.
Outside of football, Brent and his wife, Sandy, spend their summers in Clear Lake and winters in Fort Worth, Texas. With grandchildren in both places, family keeps them busy and entertained throughout the year.
